Les Berges de Seine

les emmarchements des berges de Seine

I have seen the works that have been going on all around the sides of the Seine (mostly on the rive gauche) for the past year, but didn’t know what they actually were for until I came back this summer. Now mostly finished, there have been built series of really cool facilities for the Parisians to enjoy.

Called just “Les Berges”, they are divided into 3 parts: Port de Solferino, Port des Invalides and Port du Gros Caillou, and they can also be explored on their really, really well made website. (www.lesberges.paris.fr)

On the Berges you can enjoy the various activities (such as dance classes, sport competitions and games) and other events that they plan along the whole year, enjoy some of the small cafes and burger trucks that have been placed around, or just chill on those cool wooden staircases and benches. Unfortunately, due to the shitty weather of the last past weeks, parts of the Berges have been flooded, but they do have plans of placing ice-skate rings and similar stuff for the winter season. Hopefully it stops raining and it will actually be done…
